A Chinese restaurant, Kylin Buffet in Ocean Road, South Shields, is hoping to put a stop to food waste by fining diners about $30 for food that's left on their plate. They're encouraging people to not overfill their plate.

The owners put up notices of the new policy to alert customers.

One mother is upset though after she and her 10-year-old son and six-year-old niece left two onion rings, a piece of prawn toast, and a spring roll on their plates. She was almost fined $30.

After finishing their appetizers, they got up to get their main course. Waiters asked if they were going to finish the food on their plate and informed them that if they didn't, they would be fined.

Luckily she wrapped up the food in a serviette and put it in her bag when the wait staff wasn't looking.

She ended up paying their bill before the main course and was able to avoid the fine.

That's exactly what life is like for Emma Riehl who has Misophonia, a severe hatred of sound.

Even the sound of a fellow classmate sniffling is more than overwhelming to her. "It sends shockwaves of anxiety through my body," she said.

Her condition causes her to overreact to ordinary auditory stimuli. Unfortunately the disorder worsens over time.

In addition to normal noises being an over the top irritant for her, those with misophonia often times have trouble staying in relationships. Their partners noises may be to much for them to handle.

Diane McNease, 18, estimates it took about 18,000 Starburst wrappers to make the corset of her dress, as well as matching hair bands and a purse.

McNease made the top half of her dress out of the fruity candy wrappers and used regular material to make the bottom portion of her gown which looked more traditional.

Five cars have smashed into the house on five separate occasions. Twice destroying the front porch and the other three damaging other parts of the house.

The antique home, in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, sits on a dangerous curve that has may drivers losing control especially during bad weather.

Sonya Schenewolf said it's an especially tricky spot during the rain. The curve is only 30 mph. Schenewolf said the most recent accident happened right after she woke up. She was still in her pajamas when the SUV crashed through her home.

She said she didn't hear any screeching.

Hamdi Hafez al-Nubi, a 28-year-old waiter, was declared dead from a heart attack.

As he was being prepared for burial, the doctor who was to sign the death certificate discovered the body was warm.

What was to be the saddest day in Hafez al-Nubi's parent's life became the happiest when they were notified that their son wasn't dead.

He had been pronounced dead after doctors said he suffered a heart attack on the job. It's not clear if these were the same doctors who realized he wasn't dead.

Hopefully that's how 34-year-old James Peterson of Green, Ohio, felt after fist pumping for 16 hours straight in the hopes of snagging a world record.

Peterson, an unemployed electrician, super glued his hand into a fist so that with each pump his hand was properly clenched.

His accomplishment was documented correctly by a video crew and the footage was sent to Guinness officials.

Japanese Researchers have created a pair of glasses that, when worn, make food appear smaller than it actually is. The purpose? To help people with portion control.

The glasses make the food seem bigger and in turn help people eat less so they gain less weight.

Professor Michitaka Hirose and his team of researchers at Tokyo University created the pair of 'slimming goggles.'

The special goggles only make food appear bigger, while keeping your hands and surrounding objects their original size.

Researchers tested the new invention out and found that the slimming goggles helped the subject eat 9.3% less cookies than normal, when the tasty treats were shown 50% larger.

Calvin Bernard Hill, 54, stabbed his probably now formal pal, a 32-year-old man, after arguing about who has more sex.

The duo had been out drinking and were heading home. They were in the back seat when their argument began. Eventually Hill ran out of good points on why he's better with the ladies and resorted to just stabbing his opponent.

Pam Shaw, 70, is in search of the right man for her. She's waited 70-years to find the man for her because she's waiting until marriage to lose her virginity.

Shaw claims her standards are very high. "I’m hoping to bag a tall, dark and handsome millionaire,” Shaw said.

Why has she waited so long? Other than waiting for the right man to come along, Shaw claims she was so focused on her career that she didn't have time to find a man. She's a cabaret dancer.

Shaw was engaged once in 1976, but backed out at the last minute when she realized she didn't really fancy the guy.

Dominic Deville, "the evil birthday clown", has services that are a little out of the norm for a clown. He leaves notes for the birthday boy or girl daily warning them that they're being watched and will at some point be attacked. Just what every kid wants to receive.

Then at the end of the week he jumps out, scares the birthday kid and smashes a cake in the child's face.

Deville harasses his targets with texts, phone calls and letters, because there's nothing a kid likes more than to have a clown stalking them.

Deville said it's all in fun and if any of the kids start to get really scared or the parents ask him to stop he does.

He said, "Most kids absolutely love being scared senseless." Tyler Gold, 23, appeared in court earlier this week to formally change his name to Tyrannosaurus Rex Joseph Gold.

Gold claims, "as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable." It's unclear what kind of business he works in, but people are definitely going to remember that name. Hopefully his work is as good.

Although the new name is a mouthful, he can always go by the nickname "Ty" which is what he could have gone with before with the name Tyler.

Emer O’Toole, 28, said she started shaving her legs when she was 14 years old because she felt she was supposed to, instead of had to.

She's now challenging society's view that women must shave their body hair.

When she first started her social experiment she said it was difficult to get used to the stares in public. She started examining where her confidence and self-esteem were coming from after feeling uncomfortable at the stares.

Eventually she started not to care. She claims that most men don't care about her appearance and it's mostly women who are put off by it.

Jamie Lynn Toler, 27, of Phoenix, Arizona, hatched a scheme and told everyone she had breast cancer in order to get cash for breast implants. Toler even arranged fundraisers so she could allegedly raise money for breast cancer treatment.

She first told her former boss at a hospice center that she had cancer and needed a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction, but didn't have any health insurance.

After that she told her family and friends. She arranged fundraisers that generated about $8,000. It turns out she didn't have cancer, but instead paid a plastic surgeon with the cash.

People became suspicious of Toler's condition when she turned down an offer from a doctor to treat her breast cancer for free. Yeah, that will get you busted.

Well, that's the number film fan Gordon Stanger counted as the number of times the famous spy has taken a bullet.

Bond, James Bond, has killed 198 of his enemies over the 22 official films. The spy's chance of not getting shot is 'as close to zero as makes no difference’, Stanger said.

Being shot is just one of the many dangers Bond has faced. If you add in those dangers as well, he should have died years ago.

What prompted the film fanatic to calculate the spy's survival rate? New Scientist magazine asked its readers to work out what was the probability of Bond still being alive and Stanger took the non-life threatening challenge.

It wasn't exactly allowed before, but now there is an official ban against the midair escapade.

The ban has been introduced at a gondola ride at a popular mountain in the region.

There were so many complaints about the indecent exposure on the cable cars that a ban has now been put in place. According to the sign it's just for couples born in the 90s. It's going to be kind of hard to enforce that.

Mariah Gentry and Kyle Bartlow, who both attend the university's Foster Business School, have created a bra that has a pocket on the side for women to carry not only their phone, but also bank cards, ID cards and a key.

The undergarment, which was originally presented as an entry into the university's business plan competition, is scheduled to go on sale in June.

The pair appropriately named their design the JoeyBra based after a Joey, which is a baby kangaroo that is raised inside its mother's pouch.

Marek Olszewski, 45, thought he was safe going to see his ex dentist girlfriend when he had a toothache. She is a professional after all.

Anna Mackowiak, 34, thought she could detach herself from her emotions and work on his tooth, but when she saw him her patience and reasonable thinking went right out the window.

Once in the chair she gave him a "heavy dose" of anesthetic, locked the door and began removing all of his teeth one at a time.

She must have had a lot of anger towards him. She didn't just remove a tooth or two, but all of them. It really wasn't a good idea for him to visit her only a few days after he ended the relationship.

Olszewski's new girlfriend has since broke up with him now that he has no teeth.

Mackowiak faces up to three years in prison.

When you break up with someone that was your dentist or doctor, it's best to find another physician.

Even if the breakup seems amicable, why risk it?

Kylie Steger said her appetite for fast food has been ruined and that she will never buy a burger from Hungry Jack's again.

Burgers from the fast food restaurant used to be a regular treat for the Steger family. With the children busy with extracurricular activities, Hungry Jack's was an easy dinner choice.

Steger was happy that her children weren't the ones that received the container with the inappropriate drawing. She said it made her sick to see the picture and it also made her wonder what else they were doing to her burger.

Can you imagine getting drunk on hand sanitizer?

This new trend was recently brought to light when six teenagers were brought into San Fernando Valley emergency rooms for alcohol poisoning.

How much liquid soap does it take to get drunk? Apparently only a few gulps.

It turns out kids can separate the alcohol from the sanitizing liquid with just a little salt.
